Inside Andy Warhol’s Factory

Phaidon has published a new book about Stephen Shore who chronicled his time photographing at The Factory in the mid-sixties. Stephen Shore began photographing Andy Warhol’s Factory in 1965, when he was just 17, offering an insight into one of the most compelling and important artistic moments of the 20th century.

The book features images of all the main players at the Factory – Edie Sedgwick, Nico, The Velvet Underground, Billy Name, Marcel Duchamp, Yoko Ono, Mama Cass or Allen Ginsberg.  There are behind-the-scenes shots of art and films being created but perhaps some of the most appealing shots are the candid images, showing everyone just hanging out, always looking immensely cool.
