Stripes and checks on the floor

When we present a collection of stripes and checks inspired by San Kilda, island located in Scotland, the Scottish artist Jim Lambie inevitably comes to mind. He is a visual artist, sculptor, and musician, but is best known for his colorful and fascinating floor tapestries that he makes with different colored tape. It manages to create repetitive patterns of colors that change the visual dynamics of a space in a surprising way.

His geometries and colors create a visual effect that can be confusing and disorienting to the inexperienced eye. They generate the illusion that space expands one moment and contracts the next, it throbs.
