The Oriental Saratoga

This Güell Lamadrid‘s collection shows us a fabric with oriental and romantic influences that present a delicate style. The drawing is stamped on a base of linen and rayon with a mixture of flowers and birds in elegant shades of colors. The drawing is treated in a very particular pictorial form, creating a rustic and aged appearance.

We are dedicating the article of Saratoga to talk about elements that transport us to an Oriental, romantic and delicate place.

Saratoga as an island

Perenthian Islands, Malaysia. These islands are located about 10 nautical miles off the northeastern coast of West Malaysia in the state of Terengganu. Virgin corals, sun and a hammock between two palm trees are just what you need to enjoy this idyllic environment. No roads, no annoying noises or skyscrapers. Just jungle and sandy beaches: the ideal destination for romance.

Saratoga as a park

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. 10 minutes away from the eastern city of Kuala Lumpur we find the National Bird Park, located in the picturesque Perdana Botanical Garden. The concept of free flight is the main feature of this shelter for more than 3,000 birds of 200 local and foreign species.

Saratoga as a literary author

Haruki MurakamiHe is considered one of the greatest representatives of fantastic literature. This Japanese author bases his oriental world to immerse the reader in an illusion that feeds on reality and creates a world full of symbolism and magic. His works have generated positive reviews, but he has often been criticized by Japanese traditional literature.

Saratoga as a painter

Katsushika Hokusai. He was a Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period, known as “pictures of the floating world”. His work was huge and very varied, so we have chosen some examples that represent the most romantic and the eastern side of our Saratoga collection.
